The drawer units and multi-purpose cabinets from Olivetti Synthesis’ Serie 45, later reused in the Icarus and Delphos systems, are objects of rare quality. Made from folded sheet metal, with ball-bearing runners, sophisticated drop-front door hinges, and plastic handles designed by Albert Leclerc, they form key elements of the Sottsassian alphabet. We have incorporated them into a series of domestic furniture pieces, setting them in motion towards a second life.
