Restart/Milano redefines the boundaries of the gift by pairing each object sometimes with a functional leap, sometimes with a story, sometimes with a renewed use. From this come boxes that are identical on the outside, hand-tied with string and sealed with lead. The story on the outside, the gift inside. It is up to you to decide: keep only the story, or discover the content.

Glass and brass

Description

In 1949, Duralex put the Picardie glass into production. It has never stopped since, because there was nothing to improve.
Restart/Milano takes it, inserts a small wick holder with its wick, adds a brass spider cut from a sheet of brass, and a small bottle of paraffin oil.
The result is a lamp. It needs no electricity, looks for no socket, and depends on none of the things we usually take for granted.
By the sea, on a balcony, in all those places where light and energy do not necessarily travel together.
